SMS delivery

What to do if SMS codes are not received (2-step verification)

Updated over a week ago

If the user has enabled 2-step verification via SMS code, it is required to verify the identity by entering a one-time code sent to the registered phone number.

Usually, the generated code is delivered within a few minutes. We advise using the following options in case of any delays or if the code was not received at all.

  • Resend: every time using this option, the code is generated from an alternative number (provider) to increase the chances of its delivery.

  • Call my phone: in case of delays with the SMS delivery, we recommend calling your phone, so you'll receive it immediately.

If none of the above helps:

  • Ensure your connection is stable and you can receive other calls and messages.

  • Try restarting your phone.

Some countries may have temporary or permanent restrictions applied by the local providers on the government level, which may cause SMS delivery issues. In this case, calling your phone should be a workable solution. If you still face difficulties, we recommend double-checking with your provider if there are any particular settings that should be enabled on your end to allow international calls and SMS.

You can also click Try another way to choose another available verification method.

💡 We highly recommend adding an alternative method of verification via the authenticator app in your Security settings.
