Watermarks provide a layer of security by visibly identifying the origin and status of documents, deterring unauthorized distribution or duplication. They also reinforce branding and professionalism, enhancing the credibility of shared materials. Additionally, watermarks can aid in tracking and monitoring document access and usage, bolstering accountability and compliance efforts.
Watermarks are enabled by default in all newly created projects when:
Viewing documents online
Printing
Downloading PDF or encrypted files
To adjust watermark settings, click Settings in the left panel and go to Watermarks.
Here you can adjust the following watermark settings for your project:
Actions with documents when the watermark should be displayed: viewing, printing, and downloading PDF or encrypted files. We recommend keeping all options applied to ensure the additional security of your documents.
Details that should be included in the watermark when users access documents: project name, user's email, full name, company, group, IP address, and date and time when the document was accessed. You can also add any custom text in addition to or instead of the default options.
The appearance of the watermark: color, opacity, and position.
On the right side, you can preview how your watermark will look with the selected settings.
💡 Keep in mind that the time on the watermarks is displayed according to the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) regardless of the user's time zone set in their personal settings. This is done for security reasons and ease of tracking who and when viewed, printed, or downloaded the document, especially if their time zone changes and/or differs from the administrator's time zone.
