Viewing Q&A as another user

Review the list of questions and actions available in the Q&A to different participants from their point of view

Updated today

View as allows you to see the Q&A section exactly as a selected question team participant would — including the questions they can access and how they appear from their perspective.

💡 This functionality is available to answer coordinators with project administrator role only.

To check how Q&A looks for a specific user:

  1. Click the View as button in the top-right corner of the Q&A.

  2. In the opened window, select a user you’d like to review.

    • Only active users are listed.

    • You can select one user at a time.

While viewing as a different user, the system will remind you whom you are viewing as with a banner message.

You’ll see only the content visible to that user. To return to your regular view, click the X on the banner or refresh the page. All disabled buttons and restricted areas will return to normal behavior.

Question list

  • Shows only questions belonging to the user.

  • All threads are in read-only mode.

  • Displays only Submitted, Answered, and Closed statuses (Drafted questions are excluded).

  • The quick access menu shows All, Answered, Submitted, and FAQ categories with corresponding counters.

  • Filters and search work as they would for the selected question team (without “Drafted” status).

Threads

When viewing individual threads:

  • You can see posts visible to the selected user.

  • The Activity section is hidden.

  • Buttons Edit and Delete remain visible but are disabled.

  • The editor is visible but disabled (for Submitted questions that normally allow follow-ups).

Attachments

When viewing attachments in threads:

  • Attachments are shown according to the permissions of the selected user.

  • You’ll see only files or folders that the selected user can access.

💡 While in “View as,” all actions remain disabled — you can browse, but you can’t modify questions or answers.

This mode is helpful for verifying question visibility or confirming that sensitive information is restricted properly for each team.
