Setting up permissions

Assign and change document permissions in the most convenient way

Updated over a week ago

Permissions can be assigned during group creation, as well as in the Permissions tab.

You can navigate to permissions on the left-side panel or from the document context menu – Manage permissions. In the latter case, the permissions table will be automatically opened for the selected file or folder.

💡 Keep in mind that permissions are assigned on the group level, and cannot be changed for particular users within one group.

All permissions are arranged according to the hierarchical descending principle: all the higher-level permissions inherit permissions of a lower level.

Assigning permissions

The permission applied to the folder is automatically inherited by its subitems, but you can also adjust it if necessary.

To change permission levels, just click the required level of access and save the changes.

  • When a folder is assigned Manage permission, access to any documents within that particular folder cannot be lowered.

  • A folder must have at least View permission to allow access to its subitems.

  • Files of not supported types can have only 3 possible permissions: No access, Original, or Manage.

  • Video files can have the following permissions: No access, View, Original, and Manage.

Additionally, project administrators can set permissions by file type.

Changing permissions view

There are two available view modes:

  • By groups: allows reviewing the permissions to all folders and files for a specific user group.

  • By documents: allows reviewing all the groups permitted to access certain folders and files.
