How to open downloaded encrypted PDF

Updated this week

The downloaded encrypted files should be opened directly from the containing folder instead of the browser download queue. In the latter case, you'll get an error message, since encrypted files are incompatible with browsers.

Opening encrypted PDFs

To open encrypted PDF, ensure you have the following software installed:

Viewing encrypted PDFs

To view encrypted PDF:

  • Open the document via Adobe Reader.

  • Fill in your Ideals credentials into the Email and Password fields. They are the same as you use for entering the project.

  • If you have 2-step verification enabled, the password is the password you use to access the project plus the “#” sign and the code you received. It is structured like this: password#SMScode.

💡 For example, my password is Ideals, and I received the code 123456. Then I should insert Ideals#123456 in the password field.

We recommend keeping one encrypted file open, in case you plan to work with multiple encrypted documents. This way, you won't have to enter your credentials each time you open a new file. Make sure to close all files once you're done.
