To download a file, select the file (or several of them) in Documents and press Download in the dropdown menu.
Depending on the user’s document permissions, the files can be downloaded as:
Encrypted version
PDF
Original format
Downloading while viewing a document
Downloading a file is also possible in the online view mode.
In case Administrators select folders or files containing any applied redactions, they will have an additional option to download the Unredacted version.
Please keep in mind that if a selection contains files without applied redactions, they will be downloaded in their original format.
When in Documents, download multiple files or folders by selecting them in the list and either:
Clicking Download in the top panel
Right-clicking and pressing Download
The files and folders will be downloaded in a ZIP archive.
Downloading documents in bulk
To download all the documents in bulk, select Download in the context menu of the root folder/right-click on the root folder, and select Download.
When you choose to download in the format of encrypted files:
MS Office documents (doc | docx | xls | xlsx | xlsm| ppt | pptx) are downloaded in IRM encrypted version.
PDF documents and other convertible formats are downloaded in encrypted PDF version.
It may occur that a participant selects to download 2 or more files, but for some files they have lower permissions compared to what is selected. In this case, the participant gets the following result in the downloaded archive:
Available permission | Result in the archive |
Manage / Upload / Download original | Original file |
Download PDF | .URL file with the link |
Download encrypted | .URL file with the link |
View | .URL file with the link |
Fence view | .URL file with the link |
None | Nothing |
Ultimately, if the participant doesn’t have access to the file, nothing will be downloaded. If they have Manage, Upload, Download original permissions, then the original file will in the archive. For all other permissions, a URL file will be downloaded with a link to the file online.
