Archives are considered binary in our system. Meaning that unlike most office formats, these files cannot be converted into protected PDF versions for secure online viewing. The only document permissions you will be able to apply to archives are None or Download Original.
Therefore, we recommend extracting ZIP, 7z, and RAR archives after uploading them to the VDR. To extract the archives:
Right-click on the archive;
In the drop-down menu, select "Extract here".
After extraction, the content of the archive is copied into a newly created folder that carries the name of the archive. The Zip-file remains intact, and you can choose to delete it afterward.
Note: The extracted documents of supported file formats are automatically converted by the system into PDF for secure viewing online.
