Updated over a week ago

Using an older version of VDR? This article covers features and functionality for the latest version of our VDR. If you're using an older version, please refer to Check overall uploaded data [old VDR] for relevant information.

To check the overall data volume that has been uploaded to the project, go to the Reports section in the left panel – Data storage.

💡 This report also includes data for documents in the recycle bin.

Available information

Here you will find three graphs and tables displaying:

  • Summary chart: a breakdown of data storage by file type.

  • Over the period graph: a line graph of storage consumption over time.

  • Folder and files table: a list of documents by size, index, and name. You can select to view either folders or files using the icon in the top left of the table.

Unit of measurement

You can choose the unit of measurement using the radio buttons in the top left of the screen. You can select GB or MB. This is applied to the whole displayed and exported reports.

Exporting report

To download the report in an Excel file, click Export and select Download report.

You can also select Email report to send it to a participant from the project.

💡 Each participant receives an individual email with attached report.

Subscribing to report

In the top-right corner of the Data storage report, you will find two options for subscription.

  • Data storage summary

  • Data limit notification

Data storage summary

Just like the other subscriptions, you can edit name, frequency of report delivery, reporting period, and when to start sending the report.

With one subtle difference: you may toggle this report to be triggered Upon changes. This allows you to receive notifications at a frequency set only if there are changes to data storage.

Data limit notification

Select this option to take you to the Notifications settings screen. Simply toggle the option to edit.

Then select the limit in either GB or MB from the dropdown.

Once toggled, this report is immediately activated.
