Security settings

Change your password, set different 2FA methods, and recovery codes

Updated this week

Security settings are defined during the account registration and can be updated anytime later. To review and adjust your security settings, click on your initials in the top-right corner.

In the dropdown, you will find My security settings where you can:

  • Set up and change your password.

  • Enable or disable 2-step verification methods.

  • View recovery codes.

💡 Recovery codes are available only with the 2-step verification enabled.

Password

To change your password:

  • Click Change.

  • Enter your current password.

  • Enter and confirm your new password.

  • Click Save.

💡 New password must differ from the last 10 passwords previously used for your iDeals account.

If Single Sign-On integration is set up, users might not have previously set security settings. In this case, users will have an option to create a password if needed. Once the password is created, other security settings will become available.

2-step verification

You can review and change current verification methods, enable or disable 2-step verification.

If no verification methods are currently set up, enable the toggle to proceed with the preferred option.

💡 We strongly advise having 2-step verification enabled to strengthen security and prevent unauthorized access to your account.

Authenticator app

Set up verification with the authenticator application in 3 quick steps:

  • Download and install the authenticator app if you don't have it yet.

  • Open the app and scan the QR code from your screen.

  • Enter a one-time code generated by your authenticator app.

💡 Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy are the most commonly used apps, but you can use any other at your preference.

Code by text message

Another verification option is via a one-time SMS code sent to your phone.

  • Enter your mobile phone number.

  • Confirm your phone number by entering a 6-digit code from SMS.

The same process is available to get code by phone call.

Recovery codes

Upon enabling 2-step verification, you also get recovery codes. They can be used as an alternative verification method if you're unable to use any of the previously set-up methods.

To view current codes, click View. Here you can save your codes anew in case they're lost and generate new ones when needed.

💡 Upon generating new codes, they replace the old ones.
