⚠️ Information in this article is relevant for the Desktop version of Ideals VDR only. For a fast and more user-friendly experience, we recommend that users opt for the browser version–especially for uploading documents. For information on uploading files and folders to the browser version, head to the article Uploading documents.

If some problems with synchronization in the Desktop version occur, it is recommended trying the following:

  • Check if the local folder for synchronization wasn`t renamed, moved or deleted.

  • Check if any changes in the folder structure were made (moved/ deleted/ added files or folders).

  • Check if the sync is set up with the shared/cloud folder (Ideals desktop version does not support uploads directly from other cloud storages or network folders.

Did you know? When working with Ideals Desktop app, synchronisation with cloud storage will always fail or partially succeed with errors. As a solution, you can set up synchronization from your cloud storage to the local folder. Alternatively, update it manually whenever there are changes. Or use the browser version as recommended.

  • To check if you have permissions to access the folder that is being synchronized.

  • To check if permissions to the folder that is being synchronized weren't changed.

  • If the synchronization is paused, open the Windows system tray, right-click on the synchronization icon and choose “Continue all”.

  • Try rebooting your pc.

Key learnings

Here's a list of key actions that might help you use the Desktop version.

  • Force synchronization: by right-clicking on the sync process in the Background tasks list.

  • Delete synchronization: You can always try to delete the current sync, restart the app, sign-in again and set it up anew.
