Learn how to fix browser related issues

Updated yesterday

If something isn’t working quite right – pages aren’t loading, buttons aren’t responding, or you're seeing unexpected errors—your browser may be the cause. This guide walks you through simple troubleshooting steps to help you quickly isolate and fix the issue. From trying a private window to clearing cookies or updating your browser, you’ll find practical solutions to get things running smoothly again.

Step 1: Try an Alternative Browser or Private Window

To determine if the issue is with your current browser, you can try one of the following options:

  • Use a different supported browser: While our platform supports the latest versions of Microsoft Edge and Safari, we highly recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome for the most stable and optimal experience.

  • Use an incognito or private window: If our platform works correctly in an incognito or private window, it strongly suggests that the problem lies with your browser's cache or cookies.

How to Open an Incognito or Private Window

  • Google Chrome (Incognito): Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select "New Incognito window,” or press Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+N (Mac).

  • Microsoft Edge (InPrivate): Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select “New InPrivate window,” or press Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+N (Mac).

  • Safari (Private Window): Click “File” from the top menu and select “New Private Window,” or press Shift+Cmd+N.

Understanding Why Private Windows Help

Incognito or private windows create a temporary, clean browser session. They don't save your browser history, cookies, or site data from that session. This is why it's a great troubleshooting step.

  • Why this happens: Browser cache and cookies are generally helpful for a faster and smoother online experience. Think of cookies like a digital ticket. When you visit a website, it gives your browser a ticket so it remembers you for the next time. This makes loading pages faster and can keep you logged in.

  • What is cookie corruption? Sometimes, the information on this “ticket” can get scrambled or become outdated. This is what we call cookie corruption. It can happen for many reasons, such as a browser update, a change in security settings, or a temporary glitch. When a website tries to read this corrupted cookie, it gets confused, which can lead to login problems, pages not loading correctly, or other unexpected errors. Using a private window works because it starts with a fresh set of “tickets,” bypassing the corrupted one in your main browser.

Step 2: Clear Site-Specific Cookies

If you've identified that the issue is likely related to a corrupted cookie, we recommend clearing only the cookies specific to our platform, idealsvdr.com. This approach removes the problematic cookies without affecting your saved settings and login information for other websites.

Instructions for Google Chrome

  1. Click on the three-dot button in the top-right corner of Google Chrome.

  2. Navigate to Settings -> Privacy and security -> Third-party cookies.

  3. Click on See all site data and permissions.

  4. In the search bar at the top right, enter the domain name: idealsvdr.com.

  5. Sort the results by Name.

This is normal, and you will simply need to log in again. This will not affect passwords saved in third-party password manager extensions.

Step 3: Ensure Your Browser is Supported and Up-to-Date

For optimal performance and security, it's crucial to use a supported browser and keep it updated.

  • Check if your browser is supported: For the best and most reliable experience with our platform, we strongly recommend using the latest version of the Google Chrome browser. While the latest versions of Edge and Safari are also supported, Chrome is our preferred browser.

  • Update your browser: Make sure you are using the most recent version of your chosen browser to ensure full functionality and access to the latest features and security updates.
