You can check and change the project status in the General settings of project.
Project statuses are clearly displayed in the project settings, dashboard, and navigation menus, ensuring transparency for administrators and users. Availability of some statuses depends on the subscription terms.
Available statuses
Below is an overview of all possible statuses a project can have, mainly: Preparation, Live, Locked, and Closed.
Preparation
This is the initial status of newly created projects. At this stage, collaboration with external participants has not yet started. Administrators have full control over project settings and user invitations. If external users are invited, the project automatically transitions to Live status.
ℹ️ Preparation status is applicable only in projects under Premier subscription that includes an unlimited preparation period. It is also available during the trial period. Projects under any other subscription terms have Live status by default as initial one.
Live
The project is now open for collaboration with external participants. With this status, the project is considered active and billed according to the subscription terms.
💡 All newly created projects get this status unless you are on Premier subscription with an unlimited preparation period. Billing starts when a project enters this phase, either by manual activation or through the invitation of external users. Learn more about Preparation vs Live project statuses.
Locked
A locked project remains accessible for viewing, but its contents cannot be modified by anyone, including project administrators. No document uploads, edits, or structural changes are permitted in this status. Only authorized administrators can unlock the project when needed.

Closed
Once a project is closed, all participants, including administrators, lose access. This is the final status and cannot be reversed.
